What did you do this past week?

This past week I worked on studying for tests that I had in my other classes. I finished those exams so I should have a lot of time to devote to the project now that they are done. This past week was mostly consumed by two of my other classes.

What’s in your way?

I’ve been so busy the past week I haven’t had a chance to meet with my group. I’m hoping this week and the next we can divide up the work and get started so we don’t have to rush at the last minute. I’m a little intimidated by the new tools I’ll need to learn for this phase but it’s just a matter of starting early.

What will you do next week?

This next week I’ll start working on the next phase of the IDB project. I’m excited to continue but I need to learn how to use React which is a little intimidating. I’ll probably start on Youtube and look up some sort of tutorial. Video tutorials were so helpful for the last phase so I’m hoping I’m able to find some other good resources.

If you read it, what did you think of the Liskov Substitution Principle?

The Liskov Substitution Principle makes a lot of sense to me. The rules we’ve been learning in the past few readings are reminiscent of a lot of the inheritance and encapsulation rules we learned in the intro CS classes.

What was your experience of iteration, comprehensions, generators, and digits iterator?

I though the digit iterator and iteration was relatively easy to understand. I’m a little confused about generators and comprehensions so my plan is to go back and rewatch those lectures and then go to office hours to clarify anything I still find confusing.

What made you happy this week?

I’m so happy to be done with the tests I took this week and I’m really looking forward to enjoying my spring break. I got to hang out with my boyfriend and also got to watch some of my favorite shows which I haven’t had time to do in the last two weeks.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week is to go outside and take a walk! Now that the sun is outside for longer I can’t wait to get outside. I really enjoy taking breaks by walking and I feel like since it is about to get warmer out I’ll get the chance to do that more often.
